Successful learning in a happy environment

School day

Our school day

Children begin to arrive at about 8.40am, with those from further afield coming in the school taxis. Lessons begin at 9.00, with a morning break from 10.30 – 11.00, making the most of our wonderful outdoor space. Lunch is from 12 noon until 1.00pm and we work through until home time at 3.15pm.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday we have assemblies, led either by school staff or Philip, our local vicar, and Rob, our curate. On Friday, we all join together for a celebration assembly, where we count up our house points, award certificates for achievement and have a good sing!

The core subjects of English and Mathematics are studied in the mornings and in the afternoons we have lessons in PE (currently dance and gymnastics), music, art, design and technology, computing, R.E., French, geography and history. Many of the lessons are cross-curricular, with a topic focus that enables us to learn lots of different skills through the study of a particular area of knowledge.
